about
We are excited to announce that Indian Bay Marina and Restaurant, owned by siblings Joe and Patty, is celebrating 40 years of service on Lake Champlain. Joe and Patty have a deep connection to boating and Lake Champlain, having spent summers living on their parents' boat at Westport Marina, where Joe started his marina career as a dock boy when it was owned by the Macintyre and Hoskins families.
In 1983, with the help of their parents Tom and Marcia Walsh, Joe and Patty purchased Indian Bay Marina and Restaurant, and it has been a family-owned and operated business ever since. Over the years, they have faced numerous challenges, including a fire in 1991 that destroyed their shop and a flood in 2011 that closed the restaurant for two seasons. Despite these setbacks, Joe and Patty have persevered and continued to provide a needed service to their customers.
The COVID pandemic presented new challenges, but Joe and Patty adapted quickly, implementing new protocols to keep their employees and customers safe while maintaining quality service. Their hard work and dedication have paid off over the years, and the business has grown significantly, with the number of seasonal and part-time employees increasing from just six to nearly 50.
As they celebrate this milestone, Joe and Patty are grateful for the support of their loyal customers and the community. With the help of the next generation, they look forward to many more years of serving the boating community on Lake Champlain. We invite you to come and experience the fantastic service and hospitality of Indian Bay Marina and Restaurant.
